Verified dataset
Pisochne is a deep karst lake of the Shatsk district with clear, weakly mineralised water. Historical studies of the surface layer record 5.8–9.5 mg/dm³ of dissolved oxygen, and from roughly 10 m down they describe temperature and oxygen falling together.

The source records water temperature and dissolved oxygen falling together.
Exact layer boundaries and a numerical vertical profile are unpublished, so the diagram does not divide the water column into epi-, meta- and hypolimnion.
Temperature and oxygen stratification is described for Pisochne: from about 10 m down, water temperature and dissolved oxygen both fall. The available source gives no numerical vertical profile and no exact layer boundaries.

What to know
History
Under the fish acclimatisation programme, largemouth bass began to be released into the Shatsk group; in the second half of the 1950s it appeared in catches mainly in Pisochne.
The 240-bed “Sribnyi Bereh” holiday home on the shore of Pisochne received its first guests.
“Sribnyi Bereh” was renamed the “Lisova Pisnia” sanatorium, and a treatment and rehabilitation base was later built up here.
Shatsk National Nature Park is created, and the lake has been protected within it ever since.
In a series of fisheries studies the brown bullhead was considered practically absent from Pisochne — an important baseline for judging its later return or growing visibility.
Ten brown bullheads, Ameiurus nebulosus, were sampled directly in the lake for a parasitological study — present-day confirmation of the invasive species.

Recreational fishing from bank and boat under the rules of Shatsk National Nature Park.
The sanatorium, holiday bases and campsites create a peak summer load of several thousand visitors at once.

Geography and access
village
Melnyky is a village beside Lake Pisochne and a key base in the eastern part of the Shatsk lake district. It connects routes to Pisochne, Krymne, Moshne and several smaller lakes.
Open profile →village
Pulmo is a village between Lakes Svitiaz and Pulemetske and an important gateway to the western part of the Shatsk lake district. Routes from here reach both large lakes and several smaller waters.
