Lake in detail
- A relict lake lying right beside Karasynets and joined to it by a short channel.
- The lake-specific description names eight fish species directly; carp is classed as introduced to the Shatsk district.
- The name “crucian carp” is not resolved to a species, so it is matched to the native crucian carp only with moderate confidence.

Hydrological connections
The Shatsk lakes are not isolated bodies of water but a connected network. Canals cut between the late nineteenth and the mid twentieth century, along with natural channels, redistribute water between the lakes and the rivers.
A short channel connects the two neighbouring shallow lakes.
